Playhouse Nursery in Abu Dhabi is firmly committed to the British Early Years Framework EYFS whist incorporating a blend of learning theorists to support our bespoke practice. The EYFS is a set of standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years. The British EYFS is an integrated approach to early learning and care, it is a common set of principles and commitments to provide high quality Early Years Education to all children The EYFS standards are evident in all areas of our well-resourced nursery school in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates How will your child will be learning? Your child will be learning skills, acquiring new knowledge and demonstrating their understanding through 7 areas of learning and development. Children will mostly develop the 3 prime areas first. These are: Communication and language Physical development Personal, social and emotional development. These prime areas are essential for your child’s healthy development and future learning. They are the building blocks and foundations. As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. These are: Literacy Mathematics Understanding the world Expressive arts and design These 7 areas are used to plan your child’s learning and activities. The Staff at our nursery will make sure that the activities are suited to your child’s unique needs. Learning takes place in your child’s classroom and in the many different learning zones around the nursery. Children arrive to classrooms carefully laid out to create an enabling environment conducive to early learning and development which covers all areas of the British EYFS. We provide loose natural parts, open ended resources to develop deeper levels of concentration and thinking. We allow time for free flow between the learning zones in the class to encourage the children to lead their own learning. This self–led approach enables thought, self-expression and interest to develop.
