Maisan15 is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it corner of creativity run by artist, producer and curator Rami Farook with Rita Soueidan helming the kitchen, taking a multi-disciplinary approach across the hybrid space that operates as a café-restaurant-library-gallery. Alongside prints by David Shrigley and Dan Witz, browse and buy Farook’s art straight from the walls while you eat breakfast named after him (flatbread topped with an egg and baked with za'atar, harissa, labneh, roasted cherry tomatoes, honey and mint). Maisan15 has become a creative hub for the Al Barsha South community, who come for the Yemeni shakshuka, the confit potatoes cooked in duck fat with a kashmiri chilli oil or the Maisan double burger, and return for the friendly atmosphere and open-minded attitude.
